One of Carnarvon's main attractions is the fantastic fishing!
Come and fish from the One Mile Jetty, the beach, a boat or the nearby islands.

Common catches include mulloway, tailor, snapper, bream, mackerel, tuna, emperor, groper, shark and blue manna crabs from May to August.

Fresh seafood including prawns, scallops and crabs, is available locally.

OTC satellite dish

Come and climb the huge telecommunications dish, opened in 1966, that was involved in the space race to put man on the moon.

Gateway to Kennedy Ranges and Mt Augustus

Mount Augustus is the largest rock in the world, twice the size of Ayers Rock.

It abruptly rises 2354 feet above the surrounding plains and is 1750 million years old. Fascinating geological formations, aboriginal rock paintings and rich animal and bird life can be found here.

Blow Holes

75 kilometres north of Carnarvon are awe inspiring jets of water erupting into the air known as the Blow Holes.

Other Attractions

The One Mile Jetty was built in 1897 for exporting wool and livestock from the region. It is now a great place to fish, take a stroll, or ride the train out to the end, on weekends.
